Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the SealFont website at sealfont.com and the digital products offered through it (together, the “Service”), operated by SealFont (“SealFont”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing the website, generating a signet, or making a purchase, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1The Service and the product

SealFont is a digital design tool. You enter a romanized name and SealFont generates a personal “signet” — a seal-script–inspired mark in your chosen style (round red or square red). Paid products are delivered as digital files: the paid product (US$18.8, one price) includes one high-resolution PNG file (transparent background), a numbered Certificate of Authenticity (PDF), and engraving-submission vector files (EPS and SVG, plus mirror-image versions) — a monochrome, outlined vector format you may take to a seal workshop that accepts customer-supplied data. Whether the data is accepted, and any resulting physical seal and its finish, depend on the workshop and your local municipality. SealFont supplies the design data only; it is a software-generated digital good, and we do not manufacture, sell, or ship physical seals or stamps through this Service.

2Eligibility and acceptable use

You must be capable of forming a legally binding contract to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service lawfully. In particular, you agree that you will not:

• submit a name, text, or other content that you do not have the right to use, or that infringes the rights of others;
• use the Service or its output for any unlawful, infringing, or deceptive purpose;
• reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract the generation engine, templates, or glyph system;
• resell access to the Service, or interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security.

3Orders, payment, and Merchant of Record

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. Dodo Payments is the Merchant of Record (MoR) for all purchases — the legal seller and reseller of the product. Your purchase contract for the product is formed between you and Dodo Payments, not directly with SealFont. Dodo Payments collects and remits applicable sales tax, VAT, and GST, processes billing, refunds, and chargebacks, and will appear as the merchant on your card or bank statement. Dodo Payments’s own terms and privacy policy also apply to your purchase.

The current price is US$18.8 per seal, a one-time purchase (no subscription). Prices are shown in US dollars and confirmed at checkout. Any taxes are calculated and displayed by Dodo Payments at checkout.

4License and ownership

Free generations produce transparent PNG files for personal and commercial use.

Upon completing a paid purchase, SealFont grants you a worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the signet files you purchased for personal and commercial purposes — including on documents, products, packaging, branding, marketing, and social media.

You may not:

• resell, redistribute, sublicense, lease, or otherwise make the SealFont files available to third parties as a standalone file, template, design, or asset;
• use the Service or its output to build, train, or operate a competing seal or signet generation product or service;
• claim that you own or created the SealFont generation engine, templates, glyph system, fonts, or brand.

All intellectual property rights in the SealFont website, generation engine, design templates, underlying glyph system, and the SealFont name and branding remain the exclusive property of SealFont. No rights are granted to you except the limited license expressly described above.

6Delivery and refunds

Products are delivered digitally and generated on demand. Because they are digital and auto-generated, refunds are limited as described in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Where a refund applies, it is processed by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record.

7Disclaimers

The Service and all generated files are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated output will meet your expectations or any particular standard or purpose.

8Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SealFont and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SealFont’s total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service or a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SealFont and its operators from and against any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party right (including any name or mark you submit).

10Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Please note that your purchase is additionally subject to the terms of Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record.
